Passive Challenges and Prestige in 1.1.0

Patch 1.0.3 allows Passive Challenges to keep gaining progress after Prestige. Patch 1.1.0 additionally fixes their locked appearance. This does not establish that all other unlocks persist or that every Prestige task tracks correctly.

Before starting a timed Prestige challenge, check the equipped weapon, exact action and time you can spend playing. A September 28 player report describes queue time eating into the deadline; it does not prove that a timer pauses outside a match. Test whether one qualifying action advances your counter before committing to a long session. For separate, non-Prestige targets adjusted by the patch, use the Progressive Challenge index.

How Prestige works

Reach the level cap for a progression track, then check that track’s Prestige challenge. The official progression overview confirms separate Profile, Killer, Civilian and Weapon tracks. Reaching a cap does not mean you have completed the challenge or received its reward.

The examples below come from September 13–14 creator recordings. Their narrated menu values are useful references; the exact recording build and every reset rule have not been independently verified.

Track Reported requirement Reward shown or described
Profile Level 100, then a Prestige challenge Clown Michael in Middi’s recording
Michael / Killer Level 50, then a Prestige challenge Scorched Michael in Arctik’s recording
Individual Civilian Reach that Civilian’s cap and inspect its challenge Check that character’s reward screen
Individual Weapon Reach that weapon’s cap and inspect its challenge Check that weapon’s reward screen

Sources: Middi, 00:12 and 38:24; Arctik, 00:00–00:20. Profile level 100 and Michael level 50 are different requirements. Do not apply either number to every Civilian or weapon.

Before spending Perk Points

  1. Select the track whose reward you want. For Clown, check Profile; for Scorched, check Michael.
  2. Read the displayed cost, objective and time allowance before committing. Start when you have time to work on the objective.
  3. Equip the named weapon or choose the required character, then note the required action. A normal kill, an execution and a specific execution are not interchangeable instructions.
  4. Check the counter after a qualifying attempt. If it remains unchanged, check the task wording before repeating a long grind.
  5. After completing the challenge, inspect both the level and the cosmetic menu to confirm what changed.

In Middi’s Profile example at 00:12 to 01:26, starting costs 5,000 Perk Points and gives one day to destroy 20 noisemakers with a Pickaxe. He initially forgets to equip the Pickaxe and says phones do not count for that task. This is one assigned challenge, not a fixed objective for every player. The menu narration also says you must spend Perk Points again if the challenge expires; the retry cost is not specified in this recording.

The one-day allowance is a completion deadline in this example. It should not be described as a mandatory 24-hour wait before every Prestige.

What resets, and is it worth doing?

At 38:24–38:49, Middi reports his Profile returning to level 1 and Clown becoming available. That establishes a reported Profile reset, not a complete list of what happens to all unlocks, cards or challenge chains.

If you want the demonstrated skin, this gives you a specific goal. If your priority is another character unlock or an unfinished challenge chain, inspect the current reset notice first. The 1.0.3 clarification above covers Passive Challenge progress; retention of every other unlock remains unverified. Do not assume everything persists.

Prestige unavailable or challenge text missing

Patch 1.0.2, September 11 restored Prestige challenges. A same-day follow-up addressed missing Weapon challenge text and instructed players to restart for that correction. This historical fix is not proof that every present-day tracking problem is resolved.

If an entry is still blank or progress does not count, record the exact track, objective, platform and version. Check the known-issues page before paying for repeated attempts. Private-match eligibility, the complete reward catalogue and all reset-retention rules still need more evidence.
