Weapon types shown in official clips
IllFonic has published two short weapon showcases. One presents a small part of Michael’s selection; the other tells Civilians to grab what they can find and fight for an opening. Six recognizable weapon types are visible, although only the kitchen knife has a published name. The other labels below are plain visual descriptions, not final inventory names.
| Shown weapon | Side or context | What is confirmed |
|---|---|---|
| Kitchen knife | Michael, story and multiplayer showcase | Named by IllFonic as one of the items Michael acquires in the six-chapter story |
| Hatchet | Michael showcase | Visibly shown as one of Michael’s additional sharp weapons |
| Long-handled axe | Michael showcase | Visibly shown; the final item name and statistics are not published |
| Cleaver | Michael showcase | Visibly shown among the small selection of Michael’s additional weapons |
| Baseball bat | Civilian showcase | Visibly shown as an improvised blunt weapon |
| Sledgehammer | Civilian showcase | Visibly shown as an improvised blunt weapon |
The visual labels in this table describe what the official clips show. They are not claims about final menu names, variants, or spawn tables.
Michael’s weapon loadout
Michael has multiple melee options and generally favors sharp weapons. Before a match, his killer level unlocks additional starting weapon selections. Using a selected weapon then advances that weapon’s own level and unlocks related rewards, including executions and tints.
This confirms a pre-match starting weapon system. It does not confirm that Michael can collect every Civilian weapon or swap his starting weapon freely during a match. Exact killer-level requirements and weapon bonuses remain unpublished.
Civilian weapons and randomized loot
Weapons, distractions, and key items appear in randomized loot containers. As evidence and the body count rise, playable Civilians, resident NPCs, and local authorities can arm themselves and resist Michael.
The developer stream confirms three Civilian item groups:
- Ordinary household melee weapons, represented by the bat and sledgehammer showcase.
- Guns, with no published firearm list, ammunition model, or damage table.
- Rare mysterious items that enter the normal loot pool and affect Michael more than ordinary household objects.
IllFonic is keeping the rare items secret for launch. A familiar container route cannot guarantee the same defensive tool in every match, so search the area around the current objective rather than crossing the map for a rumored fixed spawn.
What to do after finding a weapon
| Situation | Best confirmed plan | Why |
|---|---|---|
| You are alone with a household melee weapon | Keep it for an interruption, then leave after the opening | Developers describe knocking Michael down and fleeing as the intended basic response |
| Michael grabs or corners another person | Use the weapon to interrupt the attack, then move the rescued person toward light or the planned route | A rescue protects the team objective; standing nearby invites Michael’s anti-group tools |
| You find a gun | Treat ammunition as limited until the game shows otherwise | Guns are confirmed, but their ammo, damage, and stun values are not |
| You find a mysterious rare item | Save it for a failed escape, rescue, or detention setup | IllFonic says these items can affect Michael more than ordinary household loot and may save a group from imminent death |
| Police or Dr. Loomis is present and Michael has been knocked down repeatedly | Decide whether the group has enough equipment and time to attempt detention | Authority, repeated knockdowns, equipment, and a final interaction are all required |
Do not turn an early weapon pickup into a hunt for Michael. The combat system includes measures that reduce repeated stuns and crowd control. If a group remains beside him after a knockdown, it gives him the chance to recover, use a counter ability, or abandon the fight and attack undefended residents.
Knockdown and detention sequence
Michael cannot be killed. Weapons can create a knockdown, protect an escape, or contribute to the harder detention route.
A detention attempt needs all of these pieces:
- The group knocks Michael down enough times to reach the required state.
- An authority figure, such as a responding police officer, a Sheriff’s Deputy, or Dr. Loomis, is available.
- The group has the required equipment, which depends partly on the randomized loot pool.
- A player completes the detention minigame before Michael gets back up.
Missing one condition changes the correct decision. Without an authority figure, use the knockdown to evacuate. Without the required equipment, keep searching and protect the responding authority. If Michael is already rising, abandon the interaction instead of leaving the group clustered around him.
What is still unknown
No official source currently provides damage, reach, swing speed, stun duration, durability, ammunition, inventory limits, drop rules, spawn rates, or complete unlock levels. Nichols Hardware is described as carrying axes, first-aid kits, keys, masks, and seasonal goods, but that environmental description does not guarantee a usable axe there in every Town Center match.
Katanas, crossbows, throwing knives, chainsaws, fire pokers, and other items from YouTube wish lists are not part of this guide’s confirmed catalog. A weapon tier list would be invented until the released build provides comparable statistics and repeatable tests.
Frequently asked questions
Can weapons kill Michael Myers?
No. Weapons can knock Michael down and help create an escape or detention opportunity, but official material says he cannot be killed.
Is there a complete official weapon list?
No. Official material has named the kitchen knife and visually shown a hatchet, long-handled axe, cleaver, baseball bat, and sledgehammer. The final item names, full launch list, and statistics remain unpublished.
Does Michael have weapon progression?
Yes. IllFonic confirmed starting weapon unlocks tied to Michael's killer level and separate weapon levels gained by using those weapons.
